Weekly Reading Records

As part of the homework for this class, a weekly reading record form such as the one shown below will be handed out to your child every Monday beginning with September 11, 2006. Please record or have your child record under each day the amount of time that was spent reading at home. At least 15 minutes should be spent reading at home each night, Monday-Thursday. If reading time is missed during the week, it can be made up over the weekend. The goal is for your child to accumulate at least 60 minutes each week. This reading time can be either the time a child reads to himself/herself or the time you read with him/her. It is recommended that there be a combination of the two during the week.
