Rules and Citizenship Grading Procedure
Because learning can only take place when students are behaving properly, every Monday (beginning with September 18, 2006) I will be sending home a weekly citizenship grade for your child. This will let you know what your child’s behavior was like during the previous week.
Citizenship grades will be based on how well your child complies with the following classroom rules:
1) Follow directions.
2) Pay attention.
3) Work quietly.
4) Do not wander.
5) Treat others with respect.
6) Do not do anything that
keeps you or someone else from learning.
If a student breaks one of
the above rules, he or she is given a check on the citizenship chart. Weekly
citizenship grades are determined by the number of checks a student accumulates
during the week: 0-1 check = A; 2 checks
= B; 3-4 checks = C; 5-6 checks = D; and 7 or more checks = Unsatisfactory.
Please sign the weekly
citizenship slip that you receive each Monday and have your child bring it back
to class no later than Wednesday of that week. Thank you for your cooperation!
